Lumina Nocturne — image 1

Lumina Nocturne was born from a winter evening spent watching moonlight fracture through frost-covered glass. The reverse painting technique allows each layer of cobalt and silver to glow independently, creating a living sense of depth that shifts as the viewer moves. The gold leaf constellations were placed freehand, echoing the randomness of actual starfields.

Painted on 3mm Schott Desag B270 glass using Reusche enamel paints. Eight layers of enamel were kiln-fired at 580°C, building from the finest highlight details outward. Gold leaf accents are applied with traditional garlic-juice sizing. Finished in a hand-joined oak shadow-box frame that holds the glass 2cm from a dark linen backing.

This piece transforms dramatically between ambient and back-lit viewing. Place near a window for daytime glow, or install a warm-white LED strip along the top edge of the shadow-box frame for an evening display that reveals the full depth of the nocturnal layers.

Dust the glass surface with a dry microfiber cloth. Never apply liquid cleaners to the painted rear surface. The oak frame can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve enamel vibrancy over decades.

Ships within 5–7 business days in a custom foam-lined wooden crate. Fully insured door-to-door. Complimentary shipping within the continental US; international orders are quoted individually.

Each piece ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, a numbered holographic seal affixed to the frame, and a digital provenance record. The certificate includes a photo-micrograph of the paint layers serving as a unique fingerprint.
