Ember Cartography maps a world that exists only in the space between waking and sleep. The continents were shaped by pouring water onto hot glass and tracing the steam patterns. Gold leaf rivers follow paths of least resistance—they were not designed but discovered, much like real rivers find their way to the sea. The berry and flame palette evokes a world lit from within, as if the land itself were molten.
Painted on large-format float glass in fourteen enamel layers. Gold leaf rivers are applied with oil sizing over a base layer, then sealed with additional enamel before the surrounding landmasses are painted. A thin resin layer on the rear surface adds optical depth. Housed in a substantial ebonized oak shadow-box frame built to gallery standards.
Given its large format, this piece benefits from two warm-white LED strips—one along the top and one along the bottom of the shadow-box—creating an even backlight glow. The gold leaf rivers become incandescent channels of light when back-lit.
Dry-dust with a microfiber cloth. The resin backing is durable but should be kept away from sustained heat sources. The ebonized oak frame requires no maintenance.
Due to its size, this piece ships in an oversized custom wooden crate with shock-absorbing foam. White-glove delivery available in select metro areas. Ships within 7–10 business days. Fully insured.
Ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, numbered holographic seal, digital provenance record, and a USB drive containing a high-resolution documentation video of the creation process.
